Wesley & the Boys: Rock & Roll Ruined My Life [Sweet Time]

Call it kismet: “Fight on the Internet” by the Nashville garage punks Wesley & the Boys arrived right as the fate of egg punk was litigated and debated en masse. Fighting on the internet is nasty business, and this song does a pretty good job of making an internet fight feel like a street fight. Truly, this beefy rock’n’roll music is all about throwing hands, telling people to fuck off, and so on. There’s definitely a place for tough music about feelin’ tough, and in that way, Rock & Roll Ruined My Life feels like a rare bird in 2025. It’s rock’n’roll music that feels indebted to ’70s hard rock, chugging and heavy with just the slightest glimmer of glam. It’s fun as hell and there could be a lot more out there like it.
