Nekra: Is It Really Living? [La Vida Es Un Mus]
A decade of curb stomping all comers has led the London-based hardcore outfit Nekra to Is It Really Living?. This is an absolutely massive and raw 7” where the vocals are rabid, the fuzz is all-encompassing, and the bass is dense as fuck. Their lyrics in both Spanish and English amplify that simplest of truths: time is limited, fresh blood is spilled with every passing moment. In a sea of hardcore records documenting the rise of mask-off fascism, Nekra’s fury stands out. It’s that serrated attack that bores deep, it’s that linked-arm solidarity belted with full-throated conviction, it’s that grisly vocal that fights fire with fire.
