Heather the Jerk: Not Very Motorcycle [Certified PR]
Madison’s Heather the Jerk, fronted by Heather Sawyer from the Hussy and Proud Parents, has a garage rock album with a bubblegum swoon. It’s called Not Very Motorcycle, and honestly, it’s not very motorcycle. It’s more convertible at a drive-in movie. Recorded by Tyler Fassnacht, it’s the rare record that utilizes the melodic toolbox of late ’50s pop while retaining a much more contemporary sneer and bite. The details are incredible on this record—the crunchiness of the synths, the perfect harmonies on “All I Know,” the scuzzy and blown out nature of the guitars. It’s beach music just in time for winter in Wisconsin. Also not very motorcycle!
