Atomic Prey: Atomic Prey [Iron Lung]
The Pacific Northwestern band Atomic Prey make obliterating d-beat hardcore where the maelstrom amplifies lyrics about hopelessness and deep-rooted anxiety. This is music about doom scrolling and seeing no light at the end of the tunnel. “El Sistema” is a Spanish-language takedown of capitalism and the fuck shit we have to accept on a day-to-day level. Atomic Prey made a six song LP where every second is potent and crucial, where every scream underlines exactly what it means to live in an unforgiving global political climate on an individual mental health level. The music is wild and the message is relatable. Go buy this.
