playlist: the 68 best punk songs of july 2026

This past month has been an unreal one for new punk records. Usually I blog for a while with these playlist posts. It’s summer and I’m having a nice vacation, so let’s keep it short.

I want to say a quick word about this talk I did at the Eau Claire library earlier this month with a few members of the local community. My friend Jordan Duroe was talking about how music exists in the margins of real life, and how the goal is to widen those margins as much as possible.

That really resonated with me at this point in my life. see/saw exists in the margins of a day job and an actual life. I do these monthly playlists, write and edit interviews with artists, book shows, make zines, broadcast a weekly radio show, co-host and produce a weekly podcast, deliver a monthly bonus podcast, and throw together weekly columns. Engaging with scrappy DIY records, the people who make them, and my fellow sickos isn’t my “job”—it’s a light on the horizon.
