get your tickets to year 1: a see/saw party in minneapolis
On April 5, it’s a party featuring Retail Simps, Judy and the Jerks, Neo Neos, Artificial Go, 208, Abi Ooze, and Panel

Hey, it’s Evan. I’m excited to announce that tickets are on sale now for year 1: a see/saw party. It’s a party I’m throwing to celebrate the first full year of my love letter to contemporary punk and rock'n'roll. It happens on Saturday, April 5 at Eagles No. 34 in Minneapolis. It’s a 21+ show where bands will play on two different stages.
It’s incredible to be throwing a party featuring some of my favorite bands: Montreal garage rock party monsters Th’ Retail Simps, feral Hattiesburg rippers Judy and the Jerks, unhinged Minneapolis punks Neo Neos, Cincinnati art punk upstarts Artificial Go, the obliterating Detroit duo 208, the underground hitmaker Abi Ooze, and an exceptional new band from the Twin Cities called Panel.
A limited number of physical tickets are available at Extreme Noise Records in Minneapolis. I’m whipping up a program for the party and wanted to thank the following folks for kicking in a few bucks to appear in the program and help out with expenses: Feel It, Goner, Reverie, Outta Wax, Total Punk, Sorry State, Under the Gun, Francis Burger, 12XU, Drunken Sailor, K Records, Merge, and LOW LVL.
It promises to be a fun night, so grab your tickets now. Come hang with the punks at Eagles. But that’s not all, because I’ve got another couple parties planned:
On March 29 at the beloved and brand new pizzeria Leona’s in Eau Claire, catch the first-ever see/saw punk rock pizza party. There’ll be sets from Citric Dummies, Heather the Jerk, and American Muscle. Doors at 7pm, bands at 8pm; $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Ticket info coming soon; keep an eye on the see/saw Instagram.
Then, on April 4 at the Artery in Minneapolis, it’s a see/saw pre-party with Feeling Figures, Bermuda Squares, Yuasa-Exide, and Answering Machines. This one’s all ages, doors at 8pm, bands at 9pm. It’s $15 NOTAFLOF (at the door, no advance tix). Flyer coming soon; again, keep an eye on the see/saw Instagram.
The best thing about doing see/saw is feeling a sense of community from the greater punk scene around the world. It’s cool when it happens on the internet, but let’s bring it to some literal spaces and see some extremely good bands. Hope to see ya in six weeks.
