Over here, December was dominated by the process of shipping the critically acclaimed [see/saw year end broadsheet](https://see-saw.fun/see-saws-top-52-punk-rocknroll-records-of-2024-a-zine/) and ironing out details around the forthcoming year one party ([peep that lineup](https://www.instagram.com/p/DEXX0wSO6Hc/?img%5Findex=1&ref=see-saw.fun)). I also saw the Dylan movie with my mom and watched several of my relatives swing my gleeful toddler by the armpits. 

The start of the year has me excited about the shape of punk to come; new records that offer a rare glimmer of joy on the horizon. It feels great to return to see/saw—to fill a new planner with release dates for new records and think about what kind of writing I’d like to see in the world. It’s nice getting back into the swing of the podcast with Nina and putting together new episodes of the radio show (now airing weekly on KOOP in Austin!). see/saw Walkman Club is gearing up to launch over on [Discord](https://discord.gg/CHBEwmPSKB?ref=see-saw.fun); we’re geeking out about a bunch of new records over there, as usual. I’ve got a few features cooking, and the Punk This Week column returns this Friday.

With all this looking ahead, it’d be easy to gloss over the hours in December where I got excited about punk records. Home from the holidays, I found a tape from Heather the Jerk on my doorstep—a reminder of how much sick music came out right before all that holiday travel.
